Dr Camillo Buratto
Dr. Camillo Buratto is a prominent figure in the field of orthopedic techniques for over two decades. He is the heart of Podartis. Specialized in biomechanics, orthopedics and rehabilitation for serious illnesses, Dr. Buratto is divided between the activity of managing director of Podartis and guest speaker in several medical meetings related to the orthotic and podiatry in general.
Dr. Buratto has focused his attention to the issues of rehabilitation of the diabetic and rheumatic foot, proposing during the years ( since 1988) orthotic solutions highly innovative: the first self-moulding shoe , the first shoe with an extensible talism outsole and the first series of research on the use of standard footwear for the diabetic foot treatment. All these solutions have been very successful and now they represent a model for orthopedic, widely emulated.
More recently Podartis has introduced the Flexpell in the early 2000s and the biomechanical insoles with localized offloading in 2006.
In 2010, it comes the important recognition by the prestigious magazine DiabetesCare about the removable cast Stabil D for the treatment of the acute phase of diabetic foot.
